I am a 32-year-old Midwestern gal, and the loving mother to two adorable Dachshunds. I love hot dogs, traveling, recycling, and socializing with friends. And I love eating, of course.
I started this blog originally as an easy way to share recipes with friends, but it’s grown into so much more. In the last 2 years since I have started writing this blog, I’ve been growing in the kitchen, and I have finally learned how to enjoy cooking, when it used to be viewed as nothing more than a chore to me. I was laid off in June of 2010, and the newfound free time on my hands has enabled me to further grow and experiment in the kitchen. Not to mention I have met so many great people who have let me cook their recipes and share them on my blog. I encourage you to go through the archives, there is so much in there that may have been missed. Comments and feedback are encouraged and appreciated.
I am also very passionate for the environment and am learning how to incorporate environmental living into my cooking. I will be sharing some of this information with my readers. I hope that I can make a small difference into how people view their environmental impact and how they, too, can make a difference.

Emily – Thanks so much for visiting my blog. Yes, we moved to Omaha about 12 1/2 years ago – my husband works for ConAgra Foods. I thought we would be here about 3 years… but we love it. Omaha is a great city for family. I do miss family and friends and TEXAS -we visit Texas a couple of times a year. The only thing I don’t like about Omaha is the 12 hour drive to Texas. We live in West Omaha – near Elkhorn.
